REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Summer is still about a month away, but you'd never know it from the amount of sun bathers on Revere Beach this week.
With a heat advisory posted in Boston Tuesday and Wednesday, people like Valeria, were trying to beat the heat however they could. "It feels amazing," she said while lounging on the beach with her Golden Doodle Cooper. "I was telling my roommates that I forget how harsh the winter is because summer feels amazing."
Valeria can be forgiven for thinking it's already summer given two consecutive days of 90-plus degree weather.
She said she lives in Winthrop but prefers coming to Revere Beach, as long as she arrives before the crowd. "I definitely like being early because it's been getting really, really hot by like 7 or 8."
During this mini heat wave, people have been flocking to beaches up and down the New England coast.
But time is running out on the summer-like heat with more seasonable weather moving into the Boston area.
A cold front is passing through Wednesday into Thursday bringing with it the threat of severe thunderstorms, downpours, and even hail.
Forecasters said after the front passes through, humidity levels will drop bringing in very comfortable air.
As far as the long holiday Memorial Day weekend forecast goes, it looks to be a mixed bag of a nice start but a chance of rain Sunday into Monday.
