BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup match between Scotland and Haiti at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium (called Boston Stadium for the tournament), some Scots decided to take a trip around Boston.
The Haven, located in Jamaica Plain, is said to be the go-to spot for Scotland fans. The bar debuted back in 2010 and offers a variety of Scottish-inspired food and drinks.
One fan said he hopped right off the plane and headed straight to the bar, all of which went according to plan with the help of some kind Bostonians.
“Good trip, easy enough to get through customs. Made my way to Boston, absolutely no complaints at all,” said one Scotland fan. “A really nice lady, we were walking, and she gave us a lift to the train station.”
While most were representing Scotland, there were a few Boston locals that got mixed into the celebrations. Some were caught by surprise when a man began to play the Scottish National Anthem on the bagpipes.
“Everybody is dressed to kill, but I like it because they’re like New England fans, they got a lot of pride about it. Everybody comes dressed, everybody comes ready,” said one Boston resident. “We didn’t know about the bagpipes, everybody was going to be dressed. We just came to check out the lay of the land, so it was kind of mind-blowing.”
The World Cup Match between Haiti and Scotland is the first of seven World Cup matches set to be played in Foxborough.
The match will take place on Saturday at 9 p.m.
