Sen. Bernie Sanders Recovering In Vermont Post Heart Attack

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders is recovering back in his home of Burlington, Vt. after suffering a heart attack earlier this week.

"I want to thank all of you for your well wishes, love, and support over the week," Sanders wrote in a Tweet on Sunday. "I am recovering well and feeling much better."

Sanders was taken to the hospital with chest pain during a campaign event in Las Vegas on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. It was later announced he had a heart attack.

"I am more determined than ever to fight alongside you to make health care a human right," Sanders also wrote in his Tweet on Sunday.

Sanders is the oldest person ever to run for president in the United States.
