SHARON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sharon High School saw a late start to classes Monday after administrators met following the announcement that the principal is on paid leave.

Sharon High School Principal Jose Libano is on paid leave while an investigation is made into the firing of high school physics and chemistry teacher Bradley Lengas. Many students claim that Lengas has a long history of inappropriate behavior toward female students.

Alana is a senior at Sharon High School. She was part of a protest on Friday where students demanded Libano be held accountable.

“Now it’s the issue with Dr. Libano is that he really held onto this teacher for that long, and didn’t do anything about it,” Alana said.

Lengas taught at Sharon High School for two decades. Last week, he pleaded not guilty to charges including indecent assault and battery.

The school superintendent is not commenting on Libano’s suspension. He said it is a personnel matter.
