WALTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lines were long at local car washes on Wednesday while people were trying to get their vehicles clean despite forecasts that the region could be hit with another winter storm this weekend.

Accumulating ice, snow, and salt on and under vehicles not only looks bad, they can cause the car to shake and vibrate.

Wheel wells are especially susceptible to the build-up of debris.

"No one wants to drive with all the residue and the salt on their car," said one driver while she was getting serviced at Prestige Car Wash in Waltham.

Meanwhile, an Uber driver there said he wanted to get to the car wash before it got crowded. "I have to clean my car first before I go [to work], but I have to come early because I know there's going to be a lot of people before me," he said.

As far as the next potential storm goes, the forecast currently calls for a storm track that follows the coast of Massachusetts with the greatest chance of accumulating snow in southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and the Islands, but forecasters are cautioning it's still too early to tell what the storm's track and intensity will be.
