BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Summer-like weather returned Tuesday to the Greater Boston area, with temperatures near 80 degrees.
Many locals spent the day outdoors soaking up the sun, like Eric McElaney, who was playing with his dog along Carson Beach.
“[I was] tired of sitting in the house with the cold,” he said. "Life's good when it's warm out.
It was slightly colder, but still balmy on the South Coast, Cape, and Islands with temperatures in the 60s. AccuWeather predicts the rest of the week will be slightly colder. Wednesday is expected to see a high of 68, and closer to 60 degrees on the Cape and Islands.
The region could see some showers Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
Mild weather looks like it’s here to stay as AccuWeather’s monthly forecast says that the average for Boston in May this year is 66 degrees with an average low of 53 degrees.
