BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sunset Cantina in Boston saw large crowds on Tuesday as they helped celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

The holiday commemorates Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire during the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Cinco de Mayo has proven to be a major day for the Sunset Cantina. Kilder Cardona, the restaurant's co-owner, said the holiday attracts plenty of business every year.

“Cinco de Mayo is always crazy,” Cardona said. “A lot of people come out of the wood works, they want to come have some fun, get [their] tequila on and I know the next day is always a regretful day for everybody.”

This year the holiday happened to be on a Tuesday, which the restaurant creatively played into.

“It’s crazy it falls on a Taco Tuesday,” Cardona said. “We do $3 individual street tacos with margarita specials, and it can’t come at a better time.”
