BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Several certified therapy dogs arrived at the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston on Tuesday, giving folks a chance to relax with a furry friend.

The ‘Off The Clock’ event in Dewey Square was one of several events on the Greenway this summer.

Audrey Tang, a Summer intern with the Rose Kennedy Greenway, said “You work in a very high stress environment. A lot of these people work long hours, and who doesn’t love to pet a dog?”

“It’s a free event that we hold for the community," said Tang.

Many of the dogs at the event came from the Animal Assisted Therapy Services in Millbury. Michelle, an employee there, said these aren’t your average household pup.

“We’ve trained our dogs to be therapy dogs, which means they can go into places to make people happy and smile,” she added.

Molly from Dorchester said an event like this comes in handy with all the stress from the workplace.

“I’ve been at maximum stress, I have a high stress job,” said Molly. “They just do something for your heart and soul, that nothing else does.”
