Woman, 2 Cats Rescued From Two-Alarm Fire In Wenham

WENHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A two-alarm fire in Wenham Sunday morning has left 10 people displaced.

According to authorities, a fire was reported on the second floor of Enon Village — an apartment building for elderly and disabled residents. The building is located on Larch Lane.

First responders found an unresponsive 69-year-old woman in the apartment where police said the fire began. She was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries.

Other residents in the building were evacuated.

 

Police say two cats were also rescued from the second floor. One of the cats was given oxygen, and both were transported to an animal hospital.

The fire was fully extinguished shortly before 9 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
