11-Year-Old Blues Fan With HLH Gets Surprise Boston Trip For Stanley Cup

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One special hockey fan will be at Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. St. Louis Blues’ fan, 11-year-old Laila Anderson— who suffers from a life-threatening autoimmune disease — is being flown to Boston for the Bruins and Blues final face off.

Anderson has Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), an immunodeficiency disease that can be fatal. She has been rally cry for the Blues this season and has become close with some of the players.

There was one thing Anderson really wanted — to watch Game 7 live in Boston. So, the Blues surprised the superfan.


Anderson excitedly through tears exclaimed she was “going to Boston” when she heard the news.

The winner of Wednesday night’s game will hoist the Stanley Cup. Game 7 will start shorting after 8 p.m. at TD Garden.
