Red Sox Offense Is The Best In Baseball

The Red Sox have been obliterating the baseball lately. Their last 10 games, they're averaging 8.5 runs.

That's vaulted the best club in baseball to the best offense as well. Boston leads the majors in average on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs, total bases, and doubles. The team's also third in hits and tied for seventh in homers, but just five off the pace.

Mitch Moreland went deep and drove in four in last night's 9-nothing shutout of the Angels. He said it's been a group effort.

"We've had a pretty good run at it here the whole season so far. Just get out there and kinda get into the action - it's always fun. It seems like one-through-nine, everybody is stepping up," Moreland said.

Sox have gone yard nine times and outscored the Halos 19-1 the first two games of the series. They'll try for the sweep tonight at 10:07 when Eduardo Rodriguez takes the ball opposite Nick Tropeano.

Rodriguez allowed just one run in six frames his last outing Friday against the Orioles. He's only met the Angels once, in 2015, and it didn't go well. Tropeano's never faced the Red Sox and this will mark his second start since Tommy John surgery.
