BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Offense has been hard to come by for Mookie Betts' Red Sox.

"Couple games without hitting, but if you look on the bright side, we're pitching the ball well and giving ourselves opportunities, so that's all we can ask for," Betts said.

They've lost four of five to fall two games behind the Yankees for the best record in the majors, and they've scored a total of three runs through a pair of losses in Minnesota.

Boston's just 2-for-22 with runners in scoring position in the series and its stranded 18 men. They will try to avoid the sweep today in the finale of their 5-and-4 road trip. It's an early start--1:10 p.m.--with Rick Porcello set to oppose Kyle Gibson.

Porcello's 8-and-3 with a 3.70 ERA. The innings-eater's pitched at least six frames in all but three of his 15 starts. He has a 3-24 lifetime mark in a dozen starts at Target Field.

Gibson's coming off his first win in 12 starts and he's allowed just five runs his last four outings for a 1.69 ERA. The righty's started four career games against the Sox, with an ERA just above 3.
