Nick Foles Not Waiting For Congratulatory Handshake From Tom Brady

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Patriots lost to the Eagles 41-33 in Super Bowl 52 last winter, and one of the postgame controversies surrounded the fact Tom Brady never offered his counterpart Nick Foles the customary postgame handshake to congratulate him.

In fact, six months later, still no contact. But, Foles said this really isn't some kind of unresolved issue.

"It'll happen when it happens," Foles said. "We practiced with the Patriots several years ago, and I got to stand there and talk to Tom for quite a bit, he's a great guy. I mean, I have all the respect in the world for him. I think everyone's making a really big deal out of this, and it's not a big deal at all. I've already talked to him before. You know, he's a guy I've always looked up to. You gotta admire someone who's probably the greatest ever, and still going strong. Even at his age, he seems to get better and better. So I've already had conversation with him before when we practiced. So, if we have one in the future, we'll have one, and it'll be cool."

All eyes on Brady and Foles tonight. Both are expected to play when the Pats and Birds clash in a preseason showdown in Foxborough at 7:30 p.m.

The pair combined for the most passing yards ever in a postseason game in that Super Bowl. Brady set a record with 505 yards and Foles added 373. Between them, six touchdown passes and Foles had an interception.

Brady's never spoken about the missed handshake, or been asked about it publicly.
