Red Sox Struggling Mightily At Fenway

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two straight losses left the Red Sox falling eight games behind the Yankees in the division, and a game shy of the Indians for the second Wild Card spot.

One of Boston's main problems heading into a three-game set with Chicago is that the defending champs are terrible at Fenway.

They're 18-19, a year after finishing with baseball's best home record at 57-24.

Brock Holt, J.D. Martinez—what's going on?

"It's surprising," Holt said. "You wanna win most of your games at home and we haven't been able to do that. I don't know the reason why. Yeah, we gotta do a better job here at Fenway Park for sure."

"We really haven't been playing, I feel like, as well as we usually do at home," Martinez said. "Baseball's weird like that. Ball bounces your way one time, and it can not bounce your way for a while, that's just how it is. Just gotta keep grinding and keep showing up and trusting the process, and keep showing up to work."

Eduardo Rodriguez will oppose Lucas Giolito tonight at 7:10.

Boston's won 11 of Rodriguez's last 13 outings.

Giolito's been great, though. 10-2 with a 2.74 ERA.
