BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Before Tuesday's home opener at Fenway Park, WBZ NewsRadio's Adam Kaufman sat down with Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy to talk about the state of the team—as well as his triumphant return after his latest battle with cancer.
"Everything's good right now," Remy said of his health. "You take it as it comes, and I kind of look at my life as CAT scan to CAT scan, you know? And if the CAT scan comes back and it's good and clean, I'm happy. If it's not, then we have to take care of business, whatever that may be. I've had some tough decisions I've had to make over the last couple of years, but we've made the right decisions."
"I feel as good now as I've ever felt," he added.
The Red Sox are coming off a rough 3-8 road trip, but now that they're home, Remy thinks things will improve.
"Now they can really start their season, you know, put last year behind them completely after they get their rings, and get focused on what they've got to do this season to get back to the World Series," Remy said.
Remy and Kaufman also talked about the celebration of not one but two championship teams before the home opener, Remy's thoughts on the team's pitching, how he thinks Alex Cora will follow up a great first year as manager, his outlook on life, and more.
