BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has accepted three televised debates with GOP challenger Geoff Diehl.
Diehl bested business executive John Kingston and Beth Lindstrom, a former Mitt Romney cabinet official, in his quest to unseat Warren. The Republican state Rep. has close ties to President Trump, and co-chaired the President's 2016 Massachusetts campaign efforts.
"The Republican primary debate process was a sham and, as a result, Massachusetts voters were robbed of real discussion and discourse on issues that affect their lives," campaign manager Roger Lau said in a statement. "We’ve accepted three general election debates because Massachusetts voters deserve serious policy conversations as the balance of the Senate is on the line. We expect our opponent to agree and look forward to debating in October."
