BOSTON (WBZ-AM) — And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for: my prediction for Sunday’s AFC Championship game.
Am I an expert? No, but judging from the track record of most of the self-proclaimed football experts, I figure my guess is as good as anyone’s; but please, no wagering.
One mistake I see other fans making is basing anything on the regular season stats.
History tells us that has little to do with what happens in the playoffs, when the stakes are much higher, and attention to detail is paramount.
Performance under pressure and attention to detail are hallmarks of past Patriot title teams, and teams headed by Kansas City coach Andy Reid have a track record of falling short in those categories.
And as you’ve probably noticed, the Patriots have a big chip on their shoulder about how disrespected they’ve been this year.
True or not, this is all the motivation they need to outclaw the Chiefs.
So I’ll take the Pats on Sunday by a touchdown, maybe more if Kansas City’s rookie quarterback crumbles under the pressure as so many other hotshots have in the past.
Get the chicken wings ready.
Super Bowl, here we come again.
