Opinion editorial by WBZ NewsRadio political analyst Jon Keller
BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — I had to drive down the Cape this weekend, and this time of year, you know what a crap-shoot that can be. But I left at 7:30 in the morning and made it without delay.
But not without terror.
The roads were wide open, conditions completely clear and dry. But that didn’t stop quite a few of my fellow motorists from driving like they were trying to beat a blizzard home.
And I have a question for these drivers - what on earth are you thinking?
Let’s start with you, the amazingly reckless speeders of Massachusetts. It seems as if you were in a terrible rush to get somewhere at 8am on a Sunday, morning, but where?
Somehow I doubt it was church.
I was hoping to see you pulled over and taught a lesson, but I didn’t see a single cop tracking speeders the entire way.
And what about you, Mr. and Ms. Clueless Tailgaters? Are you trying to get yourself and others killed?
I spotted you provoking road rage from your understandably-incensed victims. Can’t you just get your kicks from online trolling instead?
There’s never a good reason for this kind of idiocy, but it’s especially outrageous in what should be stress-free conditions.
Unless the moral of the story is there is no such thing anymore.
