Hitting The Road. The MA Senate is gearing up to debate legislation next week that would allow immigrants without status to apply for Massachusetts driver’s licenses. A version of the bill passed the House earlier this year. MA Senate President Karen Spilka has said, “I believe this is good for public safety and good for our economy.” Do you agree? Why or why not?

The Push To Ban Menthol Cigarettes. The FDA plans to ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars in an effort to “advance health equity” by reducing disparities in tobacco use. Menthol is said to be favored by Black smokers and young smokers. While the FDA has good intentions, is this government overreach? Should menthol tobacco products be banned?
