BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The third winter storm in about a week struck the region on Tuesday, this time bringing relatively modest snow totals to the area by the end of the workday.
A widespread 1-3 inches blanketed the state, with some of the higher totals in Fitchburg and Leominster at 3".
State Police warned of difficult driving conditions along the Mass Pike as the storm went on. They said multiple cars had spun out near Weston, in both east and west-bound directions.
The National Weather Service predicted the snow would move out by around 7 PM. After the storm, overnight lows are forecast to plunge into the high double or even single digits by Thursday and Friday night.
