SARGENT'S PURCHASE, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Another day of stormy weather on Mount Washington turns into a season record breaker.
Mount Washington had its highest wind gusts all season on Monday, Mount Washington Observatory announced.
In the morning, wind gusts were already over 100 miles per hour. Then, just before 6 p.m. the winds grew stronger with gusts peaking at 150mph.
Mount Washington Observatory Winter Intern Tricia Hutton was able to capture some videos of the powerful wind storm where viewers can see the freezing fog whipping overhead.
Over the weekend, an avalanche warning was issued in the Presidential Range of the mountains by the Mount Washington Avalanche Center.
The center said the snow and wind created dangerous avalanche conditions.
