DEDHAM, MA (WBZ-AM) -- The long-awaited trial in the high-profile puppy doe case is getting underway at Superior Court in Dedham and animal rights activists are packing the courtroom.
Radoslaw Czerkawski faces 11 counts of animal cruelty for beating a Pitbull so badly she had to be euthanized.
The judge in the case is also prohibiting protests within 500 feet of the courthouse – but the ruling isn't keeping protestors away.
Protestor Deana Terminiello from the group Pawsitively puppy doe, traveled from Leominster to sit quietly in the court gallery during jury selection she says she'll keep showing up until the trial is over.
Terminiello wants to be a voice for the young Pitbull known as puppy doe, who was beaten so badly she had to be euthanized.
“I think it brought a whole new light to animal cruelty taking place in this world and the photos of her were just heart wrenching,” Terminiello said. “I'll be here every day,”
