David Price Dominant In Spring Debut For Red Sox

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- David Price couldn't pitch last spring because of his left elbow injury and he was limited to just 11 starts and 81-and-a-third total innings in 2017, so yesterday's spring training debut was a welcomed one, and the ace was dominant. Four scoreless innings, a hit, a walk, and five strikeouts in his first start since July 22nd.

Price said his comfort started right from the first frame.

"It felt good, it's good to get back out there," he said.

Red Sox Reliever Carson Smith Finally Feeling Healthy

Smith is excited to rejoin a bullpen that, he says, is the best he has ever played with.

He mixed his 55 pitches well and put the ball wherever he wanted.

"From the dugout, it looks like his misses were just by an inch," he said. "He was on target, good tempo, very impressive for his first outing in a real environment, not a controlled one. He was great. Physically, it looks like he was right where he has to be, and now we move forward."

Sox will face the Twins Friday night with Rick Porcello on the mound.
