BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM/24/7 News Source) -- Several Massachusetts state troopers are under investigation for overtime abuse.
Colonel Kerry Gilpin says that as a result of an audit of overtime patrols on the Massachusetts Turnpike, 19 members of Troop E face internal duty status hearings.
Those under investigation hold ranks including troopers, sergeants and lieutenants. One trooper that would have been scheduled for a duty status hearing has retired and another is suspended without pay for a separate matter.
The results of the audit have been sent to Attorney General Maura Healey for further investigation. \
