Where Does Brad Marchand Rank In NHL MVP Voting?

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Bruins are down to their last eight games of the regular season and they're within two points of the East-leading Lightning, with two games in-hand and a pair of head-to-head meetings left.

But, first, the B's will wrap up their road trip Tuesday night in Winnipeg at 8 p.m., in search of a six-game point-streak.

Brad Marchand netted the overtime winner Sunday in Minnesota for his team-leading 33rd goal and fifth OT clincher.

His coach Bruce Cassidy said Marchand belongs in the MVP conversation.

"Definitely in the top, say, 7 or 8 guys," he said. "To me, he's probably the best hockey player in the league, so he's always in the conversation--maybe not the most accomplished like Crosby, but right now, the most dangerous."

It's a tough match-up for Cassidy's group Tuesday night. Both clubs rank in the top-five in the NHL standings, and the Jets are a ridiculous 29-7-and-2 at home. They've won their last five.
