David Price Elated to Return to Red Sox Rotation

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Last year wasn't so much fun for Red Sox lefty David Price.

Injuries prevented him from pitching until May 29th. He posted a 3-82 ERA over 11 starts through July 22nd, then landed on the shelf again.

He returned in mid-September as a reliever - an awfully good, albeit overpriced one. Including the playoffs, Price worked 15-and-a-third shutout innings and struck out 19.

But, now, after a healthy spring, the southpaw's a starter again, and he'll face his old team in Tampa tonight at 7:10 p.m.

Second-Guessing Alex Cora One Game into Red Sox Managerial Career

It's easy to second-guess Alex Cora's management of his bullpen--but he's not second-guessing himself.

So how's he feeling now that he's back in the rotation?

"Happy," he said. "This is what I've done my entire life, so this is the one thing that I know, and to be able to do that for us at the beginning of the year, and expect to do it for an entire year, that's a good feeling."

And how was the spring?

"I feel like every year in spring training, there's about a two-week period where I just kind of have to take it easy," he said. "To not have that this year, to be able to work on stuff in bullpens, to be able to go out there and throw as hard as I want in bullpens and in games, to be able to throw everything, that was different for me and I enjoyed that."
