BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Mega Millions jackpot that will be drawn Friday night has climbed to over half a billion dollars--making it the fourth-largest jackpot in the game's history.
The jackpot is estimated at $502 billion, with a cash option estimated at $301.5 million.
It also comes on the sixth anniversary of the drawing of the largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot, which totaled $656 million.
Tickets cost $2 to play, and are sold in 44 states--including all six New England states. They can be purchased up until 10:45 p.m.
The drawing will take place at 11 p.m.
