BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Torey Krug's Bruins rallied from down two goals in the third period to earn a point in an overtime loss in Philadelphia Sunday.
"You know, this team, it's fun just to play together," Krug said. "We have each others' backs, and it doesn't matter what the time or the score is, we'll just keep battling."
"Obviously, there was things throughout the game that we could have done better," he added. "I thought we created a lot, just couldn't get the puck to go in, and they took advantage of their chances when they got 'em. It's good to get the point, and we'll move on to Tampa now."
That stretched the B's point-streak to nine games and, as Krug said, it's onto Tampa Tuesday night for another tough test with the Lightning at 7:30 p.m.
The Bruins doubled them up 4-2 last Thursday to improve to 3-0 in the season-series. They've won those games by a combined 10-4 margin, and that's helped Boston to a two-point lead in the East. A win tonight would create even more distance and all but lock up the top seed with four games currently left in the regular season--three for Tampa.
Both clubs are dealing with injuries. Lightning star Steven Stamkos left his team's loss on Easter with a lower body injury. The Bolts have dropped four of five.
Of course, the B's have been without Charlie McAvoy and Nashes Rick and Riley lately. And, still, Boston's the only NHL team in the top-five in scoring, goals allowed, power play percentage, and penalty kill success.
