BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Eight protesters were arrested Tuesday morning after chaining themselves to the entrance to the Park Plaza building where the Israeli consulate is located.
They were there to protest the Israeli Army's killing of 17 Palestinians in a demonstration in Gaza on Friday.
The protesters were part of If Not Now, an organization that bills itself as "A movement led by young American Jews to end our community's support for the occupation in Israel/Palestine."
Eliza Kaplan of Jamaica Plain was one of the protesters who was not arrested.
"By them putting their bodies on the line, that really demonstrates our commitment to freedom and dignity for all people, and really demonstrates how atrocious we found the killings of the Palestinians in Gaza," she told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe.
WBZ NewsRadio has tried unsuccessfully to reach the Israeli consulate's office.
