BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Hanley Ramirez belted his first home run of the season in last night's 7-3 Red Sox win in Miami, but this one was extra special.

Before the game, Ramirez promised his jersey to a disabled young fan if he homered.

Well, he made good on the agreement and went into the stands to sign the jersey for him.

"I told him before the game, you know, and gave him a hug, and I told him, if I hit a home run, I'd give him my jersey," he said.

Funny thing is, after Ramirez went deep to left field in the top of the fifth inning, he proceeded to find the boy in the stands to hand over his uniform top after crossing the plate.

The young boy can't walk or talk. Ramirez said it's upsetting to see things like that, but the boy was clearly elated and couldn't stop smiling.

Ramirez tweeted. "This is what we play for. Have faith. With faith we can accomplish anything."

We'll see what the slugger has in mind for an encore tonight when the Sox wrap up their short two-game set with the Marlins at 6:10. Chris Sale will oppose Jose Urena.
