Julian Edelman Thwarts Michigan School Shooting

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) --  Patriots receiver Julian Edelman gets an "assist" in preventing a potential attack at a school in the Midwest.

In March, Edelman was visiting former teammate Danny Amendola in Texas when a message popped up on his Instagram account.

It was posted by a student in Michigan who said he was going to shoot up his middle school.

Edelman notified his assistant back in Boston.

She called 9-1-1 here, and police were able to track down the sender's email and IP address tracing it to Port Huron, Michigan.

Police there went to the address where they found a 14—year-old boy, who they say, confessed to posting the threat.

They also found two rifles belonging to his mother.

According to Port Huron, MI Police Captain Joseph Platzer, the boy was arrested and charged a false report with a charge with terrorism.
