BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Red Sox are 8-and-1. It's the best start in franchise history, and the team is tied with the Mets for the top record in baseball.
Manager Alex Cora said it's a happy-go-lucky clubhouse right now.
"There's a lot of communication there, a lot of baseball talk, it's getting louder and louder," Cora said. "I stand there and listen and sometimes I'm like, 'Really? You said that?' It's good, and that's what good teams do--they talk baseball."
Red Sox Ace Chris Sale Off To Blistering Start
Sale takes the ball Tuesday night when the Sox host the Yankees for the first of three at Fenway.
The Sox will open a three-game set with the struggling Yankees Tuesday night at Fenway at 7p.m. The Yanks dropped three of their last four to the Orioles.
Unfortunately, The Sox won't have Xander Bogaerts the next 10 to 14 days because of a cracked bone in his left ankle. The shortstop leads Boston with a .368 average, .711 slugging percentage, seven doubles, two homers, and nine RBI.
Brock Holt and Tzu-Wei Lin will attempt to carry the load in the meantime.
