Arrest Made In Fitchburg Death

FITCHBURG, MA (WBZ-AM) – A couple have been charged in the connection of the death of a 6-year-old girl and beating a 9-year-old boy Tuesday.

The parents, Shana Pedroso,37 and Marvin Britto were arraigned separately in Fitchburg District Court Wednesday.

Pedroso, who appeared in court wearing a "Pink Out" T-shirt, was ordered held on no bail on two counts of reckless endangerment of a child and 2 counts of assault and battery on a child.

Britto was also held on two counts permitting substantial injury to a child and reckless endangerment of a child in the death of his daughter & injuries to his son- also being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing next week.

Police responded to 139 Stonybrook Road around noon on Tuesday where they found an injured 9-year-old  boy and unresponsive 6-year-old girl.

Police Investigating Death of Child in Fitchburg

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a six-year-old girl in Fitchburg.

According to the Police report on the death and injury to the children contains description from the injured boy and little else is revealed about the girl.

The arrest affidavits contain statements from their 9 year old son saying  he and his sister they'd been beaten by bullies and told by their parents not to call 911. That made Pedroso, his mother mad.

It also indicated in the report that Pedroso had notes that the children had misbehaved and had been beaten

The boy told police after they arrived at the home on Tuesday that the mother had closed a wound to this neck and closed it with super glue.

The girl, age 6, who was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the hospital,  had of various injuries on her body.
