BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The testimony of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is over in Washington--but many questions remain.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Laurie Kirby spoke to Boston University Cybersecurity Law Professor Ahmed Ghappour, who said that Facebook continues to have everyone's data, and continues to run analytics on it--the results of which could be used to manipulate Facebook users.
"I think the big question that hasn't been really pushed or asked in the context of the past couple days' hearings, is wether we're willing to do something about Facebook's capability of building profiles and manipulating users," Ghappour said. "It is a technological capability. Whether or not Facebook has the sort of benevolence to spare us from malicious uses of these algorithms, they still have the technological capability."
