How could Celtics coach Brad Stevens not enjoy the Jaylen Brown show?
“Jaylen loves the moment,” Stevens said. “I think he appreciates the opportunity to compete on this stage and at this level.”
Brown dropped a playoff career-high 30 points on the Bucks in last night's game 2 win.
At 21, Brown is the youngest Celtics player ever to reach 30 points in a postseason game. Tommy Heinsohn had previously achieved the feat in 1957 when he was 22.
Jaylen, impressive!
“To be honest, I don’t even pay attention to it. I’ve just been keeping on playing basketball all year. My teammates help me out a lot, by finding me. Terry found me a lot during the course of the game and I was able to hit some shots. Ultimately, we just want to win games. So, I think that’s the only thing that we’re concerned with.”
Al Horford said Brown has really thrived.
“Jalen was great,” Horford said. “Defensively and, obviously, offensively. I think that he just played with a lot of confidence. He took what the defense gave him and he shot the ball with confidence. That was really good to see and he was the guy that really took it to another level tonight for us.”
Brown has 50 points on 51 percent shooting and a plus-35 rating in the series.
Game three is Friday in Milwaukee. Boston is 35-0 all-time when leading a best-of-seven 2-0.
