Simply put, Mookie Betts is on fire.
The Red Sox slugger homered three times and walked twice in last night's 10-1 thumping of the Angels to start a three-game series.
Betts leads the majors with a .389 average, an OPS pushing 13-hundred, and 19 runs.
Through 15 games, the 2016 MVP runner-up has five home runs and 13 RBI.
"It's pretty fun, anytime you can do something like that it's huge to help the team," the two-time All-Star said.
Only 23 Sox players have gone deep three times in a game. Betts and Ted Williams are the only ones to pull off the four-bagger three-peat three times in their career.
In fact, Betts is just the third player in MLB history with a trio of three-homer games before his 26th birthday. The others? Ralph Kiner and Boog Powell.
