BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Good news! Tom Brady spoke at the Milken Global Conference yesterday and told moderator Jim Gray, yes, he'll be back under center for the Patriots this season.

"Yes, I'm going to be playing," he said. "I have personal goals. I want to keep playing. You know, I've said for a long time, I want to play to my mid-40s."

How about after?

"I've talked two years with my wife, I've negotiated that thus far," he said, to laughs. "I've still got a little further to go."

So, no need to rush that backup QB along. But, there is still that happiness issue. Is Tom happy?

"Yeah, I would say absolutely," he said. "You've been on the same team for a long time, you've had relationships for a long time. They ebb and flow, like every relationship. But there's no people I'd rather play for or be committed to than the team that I've been with."

Good. Does he feel appreciated?

"I plead the fifth," he said.

That's a bit cryptic. He did add everybody wants to be appreciated at work.

And how does he feel about Malcolm Butler's Super Bowl benching?

"I don't make the decisions, I'm telling you the truth!" he said. "I wish he would have played, but the coach decided not to play him, and we still had a chance to win."

"The coach." Interesting.

At least we know the MVP's back.
