Struggling Bruins Must Regroup Before Game 4

BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Bruins looked frustrated early in last night's 4-1 Game 3 loss to the Lightning, especially after giving up a pair of goals to Ondrej Palat inside three-and-a-half minutes.

B's surrendered three first period goals and were left chasing the score. They didn't defend well in front of their net and, as coach Bruce Cassidy said, his group was consistently slower and not as physical as the Bolts. Bruins allowed too much space and couldn't find theirs.

What's McAvoy's mentality after two straight losses?

"Same as always--playoffs are desperate hockey," he said. "You never go into any game saying, oh, we have the luxury of being able to lose this one. That's not how it goes--we want to win, every single game. We need to prepare better, and we will. We need to make some tweaks to make sure we're going to bring it to them. I feel like they brought it to us tonight."

"We'll be fine," he added. "We're still a confident group in here, like always. We won a lot of hockey games this year, and there's no reason that we shouldn't be able to win a couple more. So assess the good, change the bad, and get back to it on Friday."

Matt Grzelcyk said the B's need more balance.

"I'm not going to be surprised if we come out here ready to go," he said. "We have a lot of great veterans here who we're going to lean on, obviously, but these younger guys have to step up as well. Just looking forward to the challenge."

Game 4 is Friday. The B's trail in the series 2-1.
