Mass State Supreme Court Denies Appeal For Randolph Man

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) A man from Randolph convicted of murder in the death of a janitor who worked at Quincy City Hall will remain behind bars.

The state supreme court today rejected Carlos Seino's appeal for a new trial.

Seino is serving a life sentence, after being convicted in 2008 of killing 45 year old Daniel DeCosta.  The prosecution proved that Seino beat DeCosta to death and stole his money after the two met in a bar one night in 2002.

Seino, a former construction worker, was convicted on the basis of a DNA match.

He appealed to the SJC, claiming that some "expert testimony" should not have been allowed.

But the court rejected his argument, meaning he'll stay right where is: in prison for the rest of his life.
