BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Twenty days ago, the Yankees trailed the Red Sox by seven-and-a-half games.

Today, Boston's suddenly a game behind New York for the East lead.

Craig Kimbrel blew a 6-5 eighth inning lead in last night's 9-6 collapse in the Bronx to give the Bombers the first two games of the series.

Does Kimbrel have any concern about losing the advantage in the division?

"I don't really think any of us are thinking about a seven-and-a-half game lead," he said. "I think right now, we're just thinking about our team and playing good ball. As long as we do that, we'll be right there with them all year."

Unless the Yanks keep winning, because it seems like they don't know how to lose! Wins in 17 of 18 now for Aaron Judge's group.

"You just gotta keep taking one day at a time like you do all year," Judge said. "It's good to be in first place, that's where you wanna be. Our goal coming into it was, you gotta win the division. Boston won the division last year, so that's our main goal, to go out and win the division--but it's still early."

Sox can salvage the series tonight and try to regain a share of first.

Eduardo Rodriguez and CC Sabathia will square off in the 7:05 p.m. start.

Rodriguez struck out 10 his last outing against the Rangers, but he's surrendered 10 runs in as many innings his last two appearances.

Sabathia's allowed just one run in four starts since returning from the disabled list.
