Trump-Kim Anticipated Summit Cancelled

WASHINGTON, D.C (WBZ-AM/24/7 News Source) -- President Donald J. Trump called off the June 12 summit with North Korea's  Kim Jong Un, citing 'tremendous anger and open hostility' in recent statement.

On Thursday,  The White House released a letter from the President to North Korea's leader that said in part: "Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting."

Trump left the door open to a future summit but said North Korea has "lost a great opportunity for lasting peace."  The summit had been set for June 12th in Singapore.  Earlier this week, Trump said the summit may or may not happen.
