DORCHESTER (24/7 NewsSource) -- This year's Memorial Day will be a special one for a Dorchester family.
Mark Ransom says he was visiting the Dorchester Vietnam Veterans Memorial five years ago, and noticed his first cousin was not listed.
Robert McCarthy was killed in action on November 11th, 1968.
It's unclear why McCarthy's name wasn't on the monument, but Ransom's lobbying efforts were ultimately successful.
McCarthy's addition is the first adjustment made to the memorial since it was dedicated in 1986.
