WORCESTER (24/7 NewsSource) -- A 73-year-old woman is dead after falling into the fire pit at her Worcester home.
Officials say Jacqueline Cardinal fell into the fire pit in the backyard of her Heard Street home on Saturday night.
She was pulled out by her son-in-law, but she sustained severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the incident was accidental in nature.
