BOSTON (AP) — A man who was shot by police after he allegedly turned his pistol on them has been arraigned in Boston.
Authorities say 32-year-old John Mentor is being held without bail until a hearing next week to ensure his release won't put others in danger.
He was arraigned in West Roxbury Municipal Court on Friday on charges including assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police say Mentor shot at two men Thursday and then aimed at two Boston police officers who responded to the gunshots.
At least one officer fired and struck Mentor in the leg. He was discharged from a Boston hospital Friday. The officers were not hit.
Prosecutors say Mentor was previously sentenced to nine years in prison after shooting at two Boston police officers in 2009. Neither was struck.
