Woman Vows To Compete In Pan-Mass Challenge Despite Bike Being Stolen

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) -- A woman from Brighton is determined to finish training for the Pan Mass Challenge in honor of a friend who died of cancer but there have a been a couple of big setbacks. Only adding to the determination.

Callan Bignoli is training for the Pan Mass Challenge the first weekend in August she's riding in honor of her college theater director who died of cancer.

Back in April she was hit by a car while riding her bike on Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton.

Bignoli tells WBZ-TV she broke her elbow, her arm and had concussion and she couldn't train for weeks.

last month she spent hundreds of dollars on a new bike but Wednesday night someone stole that bike.

Disappointing - but pushing her now harder.

Several people including the PMC organizers have offered to donate or help find her a bike so she can complete the 192 mile ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown - seven weeks from now.
