Weymouth Police Hold Procession For Officer Killed In Line Of Duty

WEYMOUTH, MA (WBZ NewsRadio1030) -- It’s not often Main Street in Weymouth is this silent, just the sound of traffic and news helicopters like waves on a beach.

But it was a somber ritual as officer Michael Chesna’s body is escorted from South Shore Hospital.

Members of the Weymouth Police Department stood outside their cruisers, which are silent but have their flashers on competing with the sun, and wait.

Then they snap to attention, as the motorcycle officers and State Police escort the Medical Examiner.

Civilians too, with their hands on their hearts, as officer Michael C.Chesna is escorted down Main Street.

Other neighboring public safety agencies such as Braintree Police and Fire were spotted along Interstate-93 to salute their fallen colleague.
