Mass Senate President Will Not Reveal Accuser Identity

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM)  --Byron Hefner -- The estranged husband of  Former State Senate President Stan Rosenberg -- is expected in Suffolk Superior court Tuesday accused of multiple felony counts.  Meantime, The State Senate says it should not be ordered to turn over its investigation records into the couple.

Hefner is accused of multiple counts of sexual assault, distributing nude photos without permission, and criminal lewdness.  there were complaints, and as those complaints came forward, alleged victims were promised confidentiality by Senate President Harriet Chandler, who would like that agreement to stay in place.

But Hefner's attorneys want those victims to be 'unmasked' in court.  a law firm hired by the senate says the senate has received grand jury subpoenas from the state and from the United States Attorney. Rosenberg resigned his office this spring. after 30 years on Beacon Hill.
