NightSide with Dan Rea – Rundown for July 31, 2018

Would it Have Made Any Difference?   Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe says the assistant district attorney who handled the OUI case of Mickey A. Riveira prior to the crash in Cotuit this weekend, that killed both Riveira and new father Kevin Quinn, did so improperly. Rivera was accused of driving drunk in Hyannis and even though he already faced charges related to a 2015 slaying, was released without bail. The D.A. says the guy was new on the job and did not have Riveira's record. But Dan asks does this matter? Wouldn't Riveira have been out on the streets anyway given the bail laws in the Commonwealth? Call in and join the discussion.

Former Seattle Mariner Mike Marjama Joins Dan To Explain His Decision to Quit the Major Leagues and Help Kids With Eating Disorders. Major League catcher Mike Marjama is now a spokesman for NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association). He almost died from one himself and now he wants to give back and help other aspiring athletes who may be in danger. Make a call and talk to Dan and Mike.

To Abolish I.C.E. or Not to Abolish I.C.E., That is the Question.  Congressional republicans brought a resolution to commend Immigration and Customs Enforcement denouncing calls by democrats to abolish the agency. All but one member of the Massachusetts delegation voted "present", which is the same thing as not voting at all. What exactly do the democrats think will happen to the country without the border patrol? Feel free to give Dan a call and  weigh in on the subject.
