AYER, Mass. (AP) — A woman is facing charges in connection with the stabbing death of a male relative.
Ayer police Chief William Murray says officers went to an apartment in town just after 1 p.m. Saturday in response to a 911 call.
There they found a 24-year-old man with an apparent stab wound to the torso. He was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the woman stabbed the man with a kitchen knife during an altercation in the apartment. The woman is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. She faces arraignment Monday.
Because the victim and the suspect are related and the incident is domestic in nature, the identities of those involved were not released.
