LOS ANGELES, CALIF (WBZ-AM -- In his own poetic way, WBZ NewsRadio1030's resident poet laureate Carl Stevens has written about the 2018 World Series Champions.

A World Series Poem
By Carl Stevens, WBZ NewsRadio1030, Reporter

In this lovely Los Angeles weather

The Red Sox lost the longest World Series game ever.

They were beat by a bomb in inning eighteen.

Such a thing would have destroyed a lesser team.

But if you want a heart made of lightning and a stomach of rocks Say hello to the 2018 Boston Red Sox.

They scraped and they clawed and they would not accept "no".

They knew exactly where they wanted to go.

If Main Street was blocked, they without hesitation

Would use a side street to reach their destination.

If one star was slumping, another would shine.

Success for this team was just a matter of time.

Sure they have talent, but they also have grit.

If you step in the ring with them, you're gonna get hit.

If you think a lion or tiger is fierce,

Step into the cage with Sale or Steve Pearce.

This team's like a dog that won't let go of a bone Until all the games are over and they stand alone.

They are not fancy, no fauna or flora,

For these dirt-dog sons of Alex Cora.

As they lay their claim to history

Their triumph is no mystery.

Working together what they achieved

Is something one man alone who just have to leave.

Nine strong horses pulling a load

Can do much more than just one alone.

And so, in this lovely Los Angeles weather We saw the strength of a team pulling together.

Just like five years ago, when we sang the same song, We re-learn the phrase: "Boston Strong"
